Tuesday 23 May 2017, 07:30pm
Contact Derek Buckle
Tuesday 23 May 2017
Dr Adrian Mellor has spent the past decade researching high altitude illness and investigating ways of mitigating it's impact for military personnel and mountaineers.  This work culminated in the 2016 British Services Dhaulagiri Medical Research during which around 130 trekkers and climbers took part in research projects in the Dhaulagiri region of Nepal.  In this talk Adrian will present some of the research from Dhaulagiri and previous expeditions and discuss his thoughts on the nature of high altitude illness.
