The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857.  For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.

With membership, experienced and aspiring alpinists benefit from a varied meets programme, regional lectures with notable guest speakers, reduced rates at many alpine huts, opportunity to apply for grants to support expeditions, significant discounts at many UK retailers, extensive networking contacts, access to the AC Library and maps - and more!

One Man’s Climb: A Journey of Trauma, Tragedy and Triumph on K2

British record-breaking adventurer, author, speaker and leadership coach, Adrian Hayes, details the deeply moving story of the beauty and brutality of life, and death, on the world’s notorious second highest mountain. In this visually stunning presentation, Adrian details his intensely personal account of his attempts to climb K2 in 2013 and again in 2014, and the story behind his newly released book, One Man’s Climb: A Journey of Trauma, Tragedy and Triumph on K2 – a book which is as much a lesson in human development, real teamwork, social conscience and our lives in the world below, as it is a story of climbing the ‘Savage Mountain’. Foreword is by Sir Ranulph Fiennes. Adrian will be holding book signings following the presentation.
