EQUIPMENT
Generous discounts off equipment, except maps and books, at Peglers in Arundel, Sussex. Show your AC membership card when purchasing.
Up to 25% off Club orders over £200 at Field and Trek. Contact the AC for further details.
Needle Sports in Keswick offers 10% off most items (not books, maps, videos, sales items or special offers) to members visiting the shop. Larger discounts are available for bulk orders for which we will be happy to quote. We do not generally give discount on mail order but any purchases made via our website are supplied post free in the UK.
20% off purchases (excluding sale and promotion equipment) at Cotswold Outdoor on presentation of the Alpine Club account number (Available from the AC Administrator). Further discounts on larger orders are negotiable.
Many other climbing shops also give 10% discount on production of an AC membership card.
PUBLICATIONS

 Mainstream Publishing are offering Malcolm Slesser's new book, 'With Friends in High Places' to AC members for £14.99 plus free p&p within the UK (Retail price £15.99). Malcolm Slesser is a survivor and has many tales to tell. In 'With Friends in High Places', he explores situations such as the ill-fated Pamir expedition of 1962, and describes unusual environments, including the Arctic and the Tropics, that he has experienced throughout his decades of mountaineering and exploring around the globe. HUTS & ACCOMODATION
- Concessionary rates have been agreed for AC members at huts belonging to the CAF (France), CAS/SAC (Switzerland) & Academic Alpine Club, Bern (AAC Bern). There are informal arrangements at some huts owned by the CAI (Italy) and German Alpine Club (DAV), and further afield with the Mountain Club of South Africa, Mountain Club of Kenya and New Zealand Alpine Club. AC members generally (but not always) pay the same as members of the host club and this can give savings of up to 50%. A current membership card must be produced.
- Climbers' Club huts may be used on application. This is not a reciprocal right - full guest rates apply. The CC has a number of huts, six of which are available for use by AC members: Wales - Helyg in the Ogwen Valley, Ynys Ettws and Cwm Glas Mawr in the Llanberis Pass, May Cottage in Pembroke. Derbyshire - R.O. Downes at Froggatt Edge. Cornwall - The Count House at Bosigran.
