Meets

Here is a list of Alpine Club meets. Select additional pages using the numbers at the bottom. A list of past meets is can be seen by clicking here.

The Meets programme provides great opportunities for fellow members to get to know each other in the climbing areas of the UK and the mountains of the world.  UK meets in particular offer the chance for members to drop in, even if it's just for an evening drink.

New members have often attended meets as guests of members before they joined and their presence on meets is particularly welcome both to widen their circle of acquaintance and to assist with maintaining that tradition of openness to prospective members. Non-members may attend meets as guests of members at the discretion of the meet coordinator.

Before attending please read the Meet Guidelines.

Thursday 02 April 2020
Due to the Corona virus situation this meet has been cancelled

This is meet will be an excellent opportunity for those who have not yet visited the Island of Lundy. It offers an abundance of some of the country's best sea cliff climbing in the most remote of locations, surrounded by seals and dolphins.

We will leave from Illfracombe at 1000 on Thursday 2nd April, returning at 1800 on Saturday 4th April.

Accommodation will be in the Barn Bunkhouse, the plan would be to do self catered group meals in the evening within the accommodation.

Total cost £100 (if the meet fills), this includes 2 nights accommodation and the return ferry. There are 14 places on the meet due to accommodation restrictions.

Full payment needs to be made by November 30th 2019

For those who would like to extend their stay on Lundy you are able to camp after the meet finishes. It is advised you decide and book this in advance to ensure their is space at the site, and don't have too pay an admin fee to change ferry tickets. Some people have already expressed an interest in doing this.
