Meets

Here is a list of Alpine Club meets. Select additional pages using the numbers at the bottom. A list of past meets is can be seen by clicking here.

The Meets programme provides great opportunities for fellow members to get to know each other in the climbing areas of the UK and the mountains of the world.  UK meets in particular offer the chance for members to drop in, even if it's just for an evening drink.

New members have often attended meets as guests of members before they joined and their presence on meets is particularly welcome both to widen their circle of acquaintance and to assist with maintaining that tradition of openness to prospective members. Non-members may attend meets as guests of members at the discretion of the meet coordinator.

Before attending please read the Meet Guidelines.

Tuesday 30 August 2022
This is meet will be an excellent opportunity for those who have not yet visited the Island of Lundy. It offers an abundance of some of the country's best sea cliff climbing in the most remote of locations, surrounded by seals and dolphins. The meet ran last year and was a great success and filled up fast.

We will leave from Bideford at 0800 on Tuesday 30th August, returning to Ilfracombe at 1800 on Saturday 3rd September (there is a bus available, but you can arrange your own lifts if you prefer). I will suggest the best parking places when you sign up to the meet and provide you with the packing list etc advised by Lundy office.

Accommodation will be camping, please prepare to be self-sufficient, there is a small shop on the island and a very good, affordable pub as well if you wish. We will plan to use this on at least one of the nights for a group meal.

Total cost £145 (if the meet fills), this includes 4 nights camping accommodation and the return ferry. There are 10 places on the meet. The £60 payment needs to be made by June 30th 2022 to Nathan, the ferry ticket is booked by yourself, but you have a ticket reserved due to us having camping places on the island.
