Zinalrothorn and the Weisshorn

Working especially for this exhibition, Rowan has spent the last two years roaming the peaks and glaciers around Chamonix Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Her collection of pictures and studies, painted in her own unique style, depicts many of the well known aspects of this alpine paradise as well as the less familiar. From rock and ice to ephemeral skies and transient weather, Rowan’s distinctive interpretations of the mountain landscape are enthralling. They portray not only the representational elements of such environments, but also their mystery and captivating charm too.
