The Alpine Journal is a substantial annual record of mountaineering achievement which has been published continuously since 1859. It is issued free to members.
There are 5 indexes covering the early period: 1859-1891 1892-1926 1927-1952 1953-1968 1969-1987
as well as a continuing series from 1988 onwards 1988-2007. These can be viewed and searched
as PDF documents.

The AC publishes the most comprehensive English Guidebooks covering the most popular regions of the Alps. Included here are updates for each guide.

In addition the AC Library maintains on computer the Himalayan Index, a comprehensive record of expeditions to Asian peaks over 6000m, which is available for reference purposes.
Books for Sale
The Alpine Club Library regularly sells a wide range of second hand books, journals, guidebooks, etc which are superfluous to requirements. For details, contact Mike Hewson. Book donations are always welcome and can be used in aid of club funds.
