Dave Cowell: “Tajikistan: Skiing in the Fann Mountains”
Contact Tony Westcott & Chris Storie
Tuesday 16 October 2018

In 2018 a team of 4 from the UK and Australia headed to Central Asia to explore the Fann Mountains of Tajikistan on skis - for the first time, as far as we could tell. The objective was to ski five of the highest peaks, all over 5000 metres. Like all the best adventures our trip didn't turn out quite as planned, but we discovered a ski-mountaineering paradise, and had a great adventure in a fantastically beautiful and constantly surprising country.
