Meets

Here is a list of Alpine Club meets. Select additional pages using the numbers at the bottom. A list of past meets is can be seen by clicking here.

The Meets programme provides great opportunities for fellow members to get to know each other in the climbing areas of the UK and the mountains of the world.  UK meets in particular offer the chance for members to drop in, even if it's just for an evening drink.

New members have often attended meets as guests of members before they joined and their presence on meets is particularly welcome both to widen their circle of acquaintance and to assist with maintaining that tradition of openness to prospective members. Non-members may attend meets as guests of members at the discretion of the meet coordinator.

Before attending please read the Meet Guidelines.

Similar to recent years, this will be a joint meet between the Alpine Club and Climbers Club.

Accommodation will be at the LMC hut Fronwydyr in Nant Peris at a cost of £10 per person per night. Eight beds have been booked for the meet and are available on a first-come-first-served basis. (There may be the possibility to book additional beds if the meet proves popular).

From our base, we will have easy access to countless crags of numerous rock types and difficulty levels, from short desperate test pieces to long mountain classics. There are options for both trad and sport climbing. (The meet has also been scheduled to correspond with a suitable tidal range at Gogarth.)

The mountains of Eryri also offer endless opportunities for scrambling and hill walking if the weather does not shine on us.

As in previous years we will have a pizza night at Gallt y Glyn on the Wednesday and a meal at a local pub on the last Saturday.

The meet will be coordinated by Ian Bryant.
