The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857.  For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.

Derek Buckle: A first taste of Tibet

In this talk Derek will describe his first visit to Tibet in 1999 when he joined John Town and other AC members to explore previously unclimbed mountains close to Jomo Kangri (7,048m) in the Nyanchen Tangla range, north of the capital Lhasa.
