Derek Buckle - Unfinished business in the East Karakoram
Derek Buckle
Derek will be talking about his return visit to the Rassa Glacier region of India's Nubra Valley to explore one of the hitherto unvisited parts of this complex glacier system and attempt one or more previously unclimbed 6,000m peaks. A lot had changed since his last visit in 2016, but this did not stop two members of the team from making a first ascent of their primary 6,365m objective.
The lecture starts at 7.30pm. You are very welcome to join us in the downstairs bar from 6.30pm for drinks and a meal.
Guests are welcome and we invite non-members to make a donation of £5 to the Montane Alpine Club Climbing Fund.
