It's been forty-five years since Dougal Haston and Doug Scott stood as the first Brits on the summit of Everest, and the first ever team by the south-west face. To celebrate this incredible record-breaking achievement, we are pleased to announce a very special screening of Everest the Hard Way, followed by an exclusive Q&A with some of the original members of the team.

Join Sir Chris Bonington, Pertemba Sherpa, Paul 'Tut' Braithwaite, Martin Boysen, Charlie Clarke and Mike Thompson, as we watch this truly raw documentary following the monumental feat to climb 'Everest the Hard Way'.

After this very special screening, stay tuned to watch Julie Summers lead a conversation with the Everest heroes as they reminisce the events on the mountain. You will have exclusive access to their memories and camaraderie as they recall this truly incredible adventure.

We are also delighted to inform you that the Lead Sherpa from the 1975 expedition, Pertemba, will be joining the conversation live from Kathmandu. Pertemba was one of the very few team members who summited during the expedition, whilst also leading and managing 120 other sherpas and porters, at only 29 years old.

All of the proceeds from this event will go to Community Action Nepal, a charity founded by Doug Scott himself. The money will go directly to supporting the mountain communities of the Himalaya during this incredibly difficult time.

The film will be screened on YouTube Live. You will be emailed an exclusive link to this screening upon payment for your ticket. Please keep this link safe. The film will begin at 7.30pm GMT and will finish approximately 9.30pm.

You will be able to comment during the screening, and we will endeavour to respond to all questions, but if you have a specific question to ask the team on the night, please email your questions ahead of time to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We'll select the best questions and ask them on the night.

You can pay as much or as little as you like for your ticket, but we recommend a minimum of £5 per person.

Thank you! We look forward to having you with us on the 24th September!
